I’m a sucker for cheesy motivational slogans. Also, I’m a sucker for World War II/Nazi history and the whole era surrounding it. Finally, two of my loves go hand-in-hand.
The poster was initially produced in 1939 during the beginning of World War II, and was intended as a "last case scenario" to be used only should the Nazis succeed in invading Great Britain, in order to stiffen resolve. Two-and-a-half million copies were printed, although the poster was distributed only in limited numbers. The designer of the poster is not known. (Wikipedia)
So, hey everyone, let’s pretend as if the Nazis might invade our lives. And remember – just keep calm and carry on. Tim Gunn approves this message.
