Stupid Scary Movies

I don't like scary movies. It's just a thing. I never have and I probably never will.

This was a problem when Steve and I first started hanging out four years ago. My MySpace page said, "Favorite movies: Anything but scary ones." Which is a blatant lie... I don't like "any" movie. I don't like most movies. But, I specifically don't like scary ones. Anyways, he texted me and said, "We have a problem." and I said, "What?" and he said, "You don't like scary movies. They're my favorite." And so, everyone, now you know the reason why Steve and I never "dated". I don't like scary movies.

Somehow, he managed to get me to see "Paranormal Activity" last night. I did it because we have had similar ghost experiences down at the theater - and I'm fascinated by ghost stories. But, they freak me the fuck out. If you've ever been down at IA alone and felt the creepiness - you know exactly what I'm talking about. Or, if not, ask me and I'll tell you my stories!

So, whatever, I saw it. It's terrifying. My heart was racing throughout the whole movie. It's eerily realistic to stuff I've felt before (minus the more dramatic stuff). So, naturally, when I went home to go to bed. I couldn't sleep. I was EXHAUSTED. So I read to get really tired - but still no dice. I was freaking out. I turned the light on. I put 30 Rock on. Then when that disc ran out, I watched Clueless... twice, drifting in and out of consciousness. I read some more. Overrall, I got no consistent sleep. I woke up at 8am sitting upright in bed with my phone clenched in my hand, my book in my lap and my glasses still on.

I don't know why I thought I could do it! I literally STILL have nightmares about some ghosts in "The Sixth Sense". Specifically the one who walks by him and says, "Come on, I'll show you my dad's gun." NO! DON'T SHOW ME! I DON'T WANNA SEE.

So, basically, my life is ruined and I'm going to be a walking zombie for another week. FML.
