"Besides, what are you afraid of? It'll always grow back."

Yesterday, I came across this recent list from New York Magazine called "50 Steps to Simple Happiness". I eat that kind of stuff up. Give me something inspiring and easy enough for the laziest people and I'm all. over. that.

One that I really liked was, "18. “Don’t be afraid to change up your style. Your hair is your best accessory. Besides, what are you afraid of? It will always grow back. And invest in a Mason Pearson brush, with a mixture of boar bristle and nylon tufts. It’s worth every penny.” —Sally Hershberger, Hairstylist"

A couple of things hit me. One, when I posted pictures last week of my last three birthdays, I realized that I've looked exactly the same for YEARS. I've had long red hair and never changed it up, except when I got bangs - but that wasn't even really that different. And also, I'm in a rut. And the easiest thing to change when you can't change your attitude or your situation is your HAIR!

(Like, remember when Britney Spears shaved her head? I'm JUST like Britney Spears!)

So I called my hairstylist, Naomi, and booked an appointment for a cut. She took 6 inches off my hair.

Yes, that's in a Starbucks bathroom. And that look on my face was supposed to one of shock or fear, not pouty face. But... I like it! I didn't even cry or get upset. Because you know what? It'll grow back. And I really need a change.

Plus, other exciting stuff has come with it...
I'll talk about that later!
