Spring & A New Theater

Me at the 9-Year- Anniversary party.

Last night, I went to see, "You're A Good Man, Scott Brown" at Improv Asylum. I was so excited, because it was the first time in TWO MONTHS that I had been down at the theater. Two. Months. If you know anything about me, you realize that's a long time. I've probably never gone more than a few days without being there in the past five years I've worked there.

But, it was being renovated. And it was finally unveiled over the weekend. I walked down and immediately went into shock. It's so handsome. I don't know how to describe it! It's like a completely different place. Before, I could stare around at the theater and attribute a memory to each and every single square inch of that place. Now, it's completely new. I can't look at the smelly, damp box office I used to spend hours upon hours in. I can't look at the bathroom, where I threw up on my 21st birthday. Or the couch in the laughter lounge where I was forced to sleep because I couldn't drive home due to drunkness.

And that's okay. I don't need visual reminders of those things, because I always have them (whether I like it or not). And every now and then, you have to make some changes in order to move forward. IA needed that face lift, it was time. And now it'll be an even bigger and better theater because of it! And, years down the road, we'll look at certain parts of the new theater and think of all the memories we have made in each and every square inch.

Hopefully less of them involve puking, being drunk and falling.

I don't have pictures, but hopefully I will soon. I was too busy admiring it.
