Four simple goals!

 I read a great blog called A Beautiful Mess. Elsie, who runs the blog, is doing a 4-simple goals project, where she's focusing on four SIMPLE goals. {Get it?}

Here are the guidelines:

1. choose simple goals that will make your life richer and happier on a daily basis. choose things you may not otherwise get done, but that are not difficult to accomplish.
2. do not choose result oriented goals, choose activity oriented goals. for example.... instead of "lose 10 pounds", choose something like "eat fresh fruits and vegetables every day". get what i'm saying? positive actions instead of just the end result!
3. choose goals that are personal that you believe will truly make your life richer just by doing them! they can be daily, weekly or one time experiences.
4. choose a reward for each goal as it is accomplished! it can be a small or large reward.
5. blog your goals, each one as you achieve it and a big post when they are all finished before the new year! i'll be doing this too! links back to this post are appreciated.
With September coming, I thought it might be a good idea to get a fresh start on things. Feel a little better about life... nothing wrong with that, right?

here are my 4 simple goals: (and check out hers!)

1. write more for me. whether it's bits and pieces of all those books i've thought about writing. essays. commencement speeches {just in case someone finally asks me to speak at a graduation!} poems {who am i kidding, i don't write poems!}. sketches with no intention of putting them up. anything. i write because i love to write and it's fun - not because i have to.

2. accept compliments from others. i don't give myself enough love. and when people compliment me, i ruin it. "I like your hair today." "Thanks, but it's only like this because my hair was greasy." or, "Oh, thank you, but this is what happens when I'm too lazy to actually do it." WTF?

3. stop apologizing.

4. eat an egg. now, who's going to make me the best eggs ever?

do you have simple little goals you want to accomplish? then do them!

P.s. Did anyone else WEEP over Mad Men? I wept. The cat got nervous.
