I know these "Life Lately" posts are basically on every single blog these days, but here are some things I've learned about them:
1. It's really cool to look back on your week, figure out your highs and lows and see where everything went right... or everything went terribly, horribly wrong.
2. It helps you break out of a pattern. Or not. "Oh God, I wrote about my cat last week and the week before and THE WEEK BEFORE THAT? Guess one more time won't hurt!"
3. I like the fact that every week, I realize I like my life in California more and more... and that is a very good thing. (Sorry to get all Martha Stewart on you.)
Anyways, this week was a good week.
On Sunday, Beau and I spent the entire afternoon (and early morning, let's face it) drinking and lying by the pool. We had some drinks, we made hot dogs, we took naps because of said drinks and hot dogs, we got some sun and then went right back out to the pool at night for hot tub times.
I utilize my building's pool so often that it's pretty ridiculous. I'm basically a staple out there. But if we're paying for it (in our rent) then why not use it? In fact, I love it so much that I was thinking of getting a tattoo soon and then realized I should probably wait until fall so I don't have to hide the tattoo from the pool or the sun. Priorities.
Work was both productive and fun this week - and that is the dream, right? I went out to lunch for my co-worker's birthday and then helped throw her a baby shower at the end of the week. It was nautical themed and it was my first shower I ever had a hand in throwing. I have to say, it was a pretty great time. We had donuts. And we taped a whale to a straw.
I had girl time and got a manicure and pedicure with my friend, Jen. I ate my favorite pizza in the neighborhood. I started reading a new book. I started writing a short film.
Really, each passing week just gets better and better. Especially this week, because I got a new bathing suit and a new jean jacket and a new pair of sandals... so I'm pretty much on top of the world.
Have a good weekend! Don't fuck it up.
